NEW - Faunamaster Turnip Fusion – Targeted winter feed for deer

Faunamaster Turnip Fusion is a new, specially developed seed mixture with a 2-year effect, designed to provide attractive and energy-rich feed for deer throughout winter and early spring.

The mixture consists of carefully selected turnip varieties with high nutritional value and great attractiveness. The plants develop both a strong foliage and nutrient-rich roots, giving the wildlife access to feed both above and below ground – even in periods when natural food is limited.

Deer typically begin to eat the leaves in the autumn, while the roots become an important energy source later in winter. The result is a wildlife plot that keeps the deer in the area for a long period.

High efficiency – low seeding rate

Turnip Fusion only requires 4.5 kg per hectare, making it an efficient solution per area and ensuring maximum utilization of the seed material.

Key Features

  • Food above and below ground
Foliage and roots ensure a continuous food source throughout winter.
  • High attractiveness
Selected varieties with a documented effect on deer.
  • Strong winter value
Ensures stable food when natural food is limited.
  • 2-year effect
Provides value over more than one season and reduces the need for frequent re-establishment.

Application

Turnip Fusion is particularly suitable for areas where the goal is targeted feeding and retention of deer through the cold months.

For best results, the mixture should be sown in the summer so that the plants have time to build up strong biomass before winter.

    Sowing Information:

    • Seeding Rate per Ha: 4.5 kg
    • Sowing Period: June-July
    • Sowing Depth: 0.5-1 cm
    • Row Spacing: 30cm or more
    • Fertilizer Recommendation: For best results, we recommend applying approx. 250 kg/ha of fertilizer (21-3-10) when the wildlife plot is 5–10 cm high.

    Contents:

    • Broad-leaf turnip
    • Marrowstem kale
    • Japanese turnip
    • Yellow turnip

The composition of several varieties ensures variation in foliage, root development, and palatability – which increases uptake and extends the period in which deer utilize the area.

    Crop Rotation

As turnips belong to the cruciferous family (brassica), it is recommended to take a break of 3–4 years before sowing turnips again in the same area.

In the meantime, the area can advantageously be used for other wildlife plots. We recommend, for example:

    • Faunamaster Explosion for soil improvement via clover species
    • Subsequently, a classic wildlife plot such as Faunamaster Deer or Faunamaster Pheasant

This ensures both healthy soil and optimal conditions for the next establishment of Turnip Fusion.
